The Syrian film «The Cord» directed by Allaith Hajjo and written by Rami Kousa has booked its place officially at the International Silk Road Film Festival which is starting in December the 7th of this year in Istanbul, Turkey. And it considered the film’s third official participation.
The film started its tour at Al Gouna Film Festival in Egypt between past 20-29 September, after that it gained the Scenario Award at Festival du Court-Metrage d’Auch in its eighth edition and which took place on this past November in France.
The script revolves about the harsh journey of a couples living in one of the Syrian sieged neighborhoods, the wife enters an early labor so we feel the risks of this labor and her pain a moment by moment, while the sniper’s bullets prevents the midwife from reaching the mother. The cast are Nancy Khoury, Yazan Al-Khalil, Duha Aldibs, Jamal Al-Ali and Sanaa’ Sawah.
